Foresty, have you ever stayed in any of the 30 huts that are part of the Alpine Club of Canada's network? I keep getting shorts about their hut system coming up on my feed lately. I have never heard you mention them. But maybe you have stayed in one of their huts, and just did not mention it (?)

Foresty, you made a comment in the video saying that you do not listen to music while you are hiking. I think that this is really good. That way, it turns into a form of walking meditation (such as was advocated by the famous peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh). Very beneficial. And this also brings to mind a book that I highly recommend called Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Czikszentmihalyi. (When you do silent hiking, you are definitely getting into a state or a place of "flow", as he described it.) I was lucky to be able to hear both of these guys speak about these concepts a few years ago, and their ideas make a lot of sense.
